本種は福岡県と栃木県からメスのみ得られていたが、中国からLiら(2022)により記録されると共にオスが記載された。福岡県ではクリの花のフォギングで採集されているが、生態の詳細は不明。本種はDesmidothrips属の一種として記載されたが、Liら(2022)によりDesmidothrips属は本属のシノニムとされた。

This species had been known from Fukuoka in Kyushu and Tochigi in Honshu, Japan, but Li et al. (2022) recorded it and described the male from China. It was collected from the flower of Castanea crenata by fogging in Fukuoka, but there is no information about their biology. It was described as a member of the genus Desmidothrips Mound but this genus was synonymised with Aduncothrips by Li et al. (2022).
